Campus alerts go beyond text messaging
Article on MSNBC highlights the need to use multiple technologies for campus alerting.
SpectraRep's IncidentOne technology was used to support video and file sharing among multiple agencies during the July 4th festivities in northern Virginia and on the National Mall. The solution overcame bandwidth challenges by using spectrum from WETA-TV to securely deliver data directly to emergency responders – all without competing with the increased Internet and cell phone activity caused by the public during the holiday. Watch the video below to see details from this project.

SpectraRep's ActiveCrawl solution has been recognized by many institutions as a key channel in the event of an emergency. The product works by delivering emergency alerts straight to the computer desktop in the form of a crawl that is displayed along the bottom of the screen and on top of all operational software. It essentially turns computers into emergency alerting devices.
In today's world, where so many people are in front of a computer for hours every day, ActiveCrawl is an ideal way to broadcast a message quickly and efficiently during a moment of crisis.
This solution works on all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux) and can be implemented and deployed in less than a week. Message origination can work with many different 3rd party vendors or the crawl can be orginated through our own admin site
