Engineering Technician/Specialist

Provides functional analysis, design, development, integration, documentation, and implementation assistance.  Inspects tests and repairs CPU-based components. Calibrates electronic equipment. Records test data.  In support of microcomputer applications, analyzes requirements; in required media; provides program support; tests, debugs and writes documentation as required. May have responsibilities providing customer assistance support in setting up microcomputers and/or installing software packages.  May assist in the development and fabrication of specialized equipment.   Prefer LINUX, Windows OS, SQL experience.   Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs. Applications generally dealing with utility programs, job control language, macros, subroutines and other control modules. Supports applications dealing with the overall operating system and file maintenance routines.  Works under direct supervision.  Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or applicable technical training certificate from an accredited training institute. 2-4 years of progressive experience in computer systems/network engineering and 1 year of specialized experience.

Senior Engineering Technician/Specialist

Acts as a task leader or supervisor.  Specialized operational and development experience with telecommunications, broadcast and/or RF network.  Serves as resident expert in matters of telecommunications, broadcast engineering. Supervises the evaluation and installation of software packages to enhance operational capacity of customer systems.  Analyzes, designs, implements, manages and plans telecommunications, broadcast and/or RF networks, switching centers, microwave transmission facilities, radio transmission facilities and other emerging industry related technologies. Serves as team leader of member of technical review team. May support multiple tasks.  Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years experience with 4 years of professional technical and/or programmatic experience in a telecommunications/broadcast system and 3 years team management experience.
